Condition: Constipation •  Heat Type
Treatment: Eliminate heat and moisten the intestines.
Description: Absence of bowel movement for several days, abdominal fullness and distention, abdominal pain and mass by palpating, reddish complexion, restlessness, scanty urine, or fever in some cases, dry mouth with foul breath, dry yellow tongue costing, rapid and slippery pulse. Red or pale tongue body.

Point Selection:
LI11 • Qu Chi • On the lateral side of the cubital crease when the elbow is close to full flexion.
Pool at the Bend. He Sea Point on the Large Intestine Channel. Earth Point on Metal Meridian.
Explanation: Heat points, clears from Large Intestine, promotes bowel movement.

LI4 • He Gu • On the dorsum of the hand, approximately at the midpoint of the second metacarpal bone, in the belly of the first interosseus dorsalis muscle.
Contraindication: Do Not Needle If Pregnancy is known or suspected
Union Valley. Yuan Source Point on the Large Intestine Channel. Command Point of the Face and Mouth.
Explanation: Heat points, clears from Large Intestine, promotes bowel movement.

SP15 • Da Heng • On the abdomen, at the level of the umbilicus, 4 cun lateral to the anterior midline.
Great Horizontal. Meeting Point on the Spleen Channel with the Yin Linking Vessel.
Explanation: Regulates Qi of Large Intestine to relax the stool.

ST25 • Tian Shu • On the abdomen, 2 cun lateral to the umbilicus.
Contraindication: Do Not Needle If Pregnancy is known or suspected
Celestial Pivot. Front Mu Point of the Large Intestine that connects with Back Shu BL25.
Explanation: Regulates Qi of Large Intestine to relax the stool.

ST37 • Shang Ju Xu • On the leg, one finger breadth lateral to the tibia's anterior crest, 6 cun inferior to ST 35 in the depression to the lateral side of the patella.
Upper Great Hollow. Lower He Sea Point of the Large Intestine. Lower Body Sea of Blood Point with ST39.
Explanation: Regulates Qi of Large Intestine to relax the stool.
